Linking Farmers To Market

Figure 1: SLCC Cooperative Market

Due to the poor road conditions and the remoteness of some of the ASM communities, access to services, especially markets continue to pose significant challenges for the expansion of the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in Kono. In addition to building partnerships between the SLCC and the FAO/UNDP funded poultry farms, the SLCC cooperative market at Ngaiya Junction continue to provide critical market opportunities for women in various other value-chains including vegetables and other food crops.
